Gangneung with the World
Gangneung was the host city for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, and a number of major events, including the 2023 Gangneung World Choir Games, the 2024 Youth Winter Olympics, and the 2026 ITS World Congress, are planned for the future.

Gangneung World Choir Games

The German Interkultur Foundation staged the 2023 Gangneung World Choir Games, often known as the Choir Olympics, for the first time in Korea.
Since the first event in Austria in 2000, it has been contested every two years.

The 2024 Winter Youth Olympics

Jan 19–Feb 1, 2024 /Approx. 2,900 individuals from 70 nations are expected to attend/the opening and closing ceremonies and 15 events in 7 categories

ITS World Congress

The ITS World Congress, also known as the Transportation Olympics, is the world's largest exposition and academic conference in the field of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and it will be held in Gangneung for the third time in Korea, following Seoul (1998) and Busan (2010).
More than 100 countries will be represented, with a total attendance of 60,000 expected for academic seminars, exhibits, and demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies, among other things.
